    by historian Armando Droulers; as part of an ongoing series of art history lectures offered by Miami Biennale.

    Performance Art became a popular genre of twentieth century art where Performance artists often challenge the audience to think in new and unconventional ways, breaking with traditional ideas of “what art is.”
     
    Armando Droulers  is an art historian, educator and artist. He studied at Bard College, Academia de Arte Federico Brandt, New World School of the Arts and the University of Florida. He lectures extensively on art and culture, organizes artistic, culinary, painting and drawing tours, as well as art and wine events throughout the world.
