Enjoy an afternoon of relaxation and creativity at the Frost with an open studio! The drawing salon is free and open to all artists–from novice to expert–and is perfect for any range and skill level. The classes are led by artists, museum educators or university faculty, and they are all encouraging and helpful in exploration with any style and technique. Materials are all provided generously by the museum for an optimal learning experience.

Emilio Cianfoni Work Inspired by Cavallini’s Angels @ Emilio Cianfoni Studio

Emilio Cianfoni  Studio is located in Wynwood and will be open from December 1st to January 31st, from 12 – 5 pm. His ew worked was inspired from viewing Cavallini’s angels near his studio in Trastevere years ago. “In 1966 I had a studio in Trastevere in Rome one block away from the Basilica of Santa Cecilia where I was captured by the beauty of Pietro Cavallini’s fresco The Last Judgment (I Giudizio Universale)…My recent work is my interpretation of the transcendent wings of these angels”

In honor of Art Week in Miami, Bakehouse Art Complex showcases open studios of more than 50 Bakehouse artists. The afternoon will be filled with art and coffee, in particular, there are several site-specific pieces from exhibition ‘Collectivity’, curated by 17-year-old Quinn Harrelson. It features eight new works by Miami-based artists Domingo Castillo, Robert Chambers, Cara Dodge, A.G., Christina Pettersson, Michelle Lisa Polissaint, Sterling Rook, Nicole Salcedo, and Troy Simmons.

With dreams of becoming a professional artist, the teen discovers that his grandpa, a Jewish dry cleaner, was heroically saved from Nazi capture in Germany by a young woman when he was a boy. After hesitating, Samuel agrees to tell his story for the project. Join the Museum to learn all about the journey with this award-winning film.

Join PAMM for the Tout-Monde Festival, in which Caribbean artists are given a platform to express their creativity in multidisciplinary approaches, including film work, installation, and performance. Visitors will be able to view a selection Caribbean short films curated by Jonathan Ali of Third Horizon Film Festival followed by a Q&A session with film directors, as well as a powerful dance and installation work performed by the women of Miami. Yué#Sorority is a project done by female local Caribbean artists who aim to call attention to feminine issues for Women’s month, as well as climate change and a social movement, so make sure not to miss this amazing performance at PAMM.

“The Hour of the Furnaces” (1968) Film Screening @ ICA Miami

Also screening will be Paolo Soleri: Citizen of the Planet, a 50-minute film about the architect, dreamer, and philosopher, whose utopian ideology was to build mega-structured cities a hundred times the size of the Empire State Building.
