Join HistoryMiami for their 3rd annual Flamingo Ball, the biggest party, awards ceremony, and fundraiser the year at the museum! This year, HistoryMiami hosts at the beautiful Citation Ballroom in Hialeah Park and offers visitors a delicious luxury stone crab dinner, live music, and awards ceremony which will present the prestigious local Henry Flagler award. Come in black tie attire or decades dress to experience the fun to the maximum. All proceeds benefit the museum.

Join the NSU Art Museum for a night for all ages with activities ranging from art workshops and hands-on projects for kids, happy hour and 2 for 1 drink prices, light bites at the museum cafe, and free museum admission. This month’s activities will be based upon the work of Purvis Young, a Miami-local artist whose pieces are made from recycled materials. The night will also feature separate events such as the Lecture Series and the Art of Wine and Food Series.

Enjoy his new works, his Spring Exhibition: Art with “Sole” Jamali is one of the most collected living artists in the world today. The museum will feature many activities in recognition of June Pride Month and the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall, with a one-day symposium with local and national LGBTQ artists, curators and activists will highlight issues in the LGBTQ+ art community. Complete with panel discussions on the AIDS crisis and artists, performances, the Gay men chorus,  and ritualistic healing practice by artist Roberto Navarrete that responds to intolerance towards LGBTQ+ community, the museum has something to offer for everyone.

Where The Oceans Meet Opening Panel & Chaos Opera Performance @ MOAD - Museum of Art & Design MDC

Where the Oceans Meet, an exhibition of modern and contemporary art that resonates with the pioneering thought of two Caribbean writers, Lydia Cabrera and Édouard Glissant. An international group of forty artists and collectives participate in the exhibition curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Asad Raza, Gabriela Rangel, and Rina Carvajal. The panel discussion with two artists in the exhibition–Zins-Browne and Daniel Boyd—and two of its curators—Asad Raza and Rina Carvajal—will be held at 3 p.m., followed by Zins-Browne’s The Chaos Opera at 4 p.m.
Where the Oceans Meet will be on view thru Sept. 29.

The nation’s largest and finest literary gathering will celebrate its 36th anniversary Nov. 17 – 24, 2019, at the Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. The nation’s leading weeklong literary festival featuring more than 500 authors. Tens of thousands of people descend on Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami for six nights of readings and discussions with notable authors from around the world, topped off by the beloved three-day Street Fair.
