Tachi Llamas and Giselle Delgado created ARTcycle, a bicycle-centered art event that raises awareness for safer streets for both riders and drivers with the goal of reducing the number of bike-related accidents and fatalities in the City of Miami.
All 14 sculptures that were exhibited during Art Basel days in 11 locations throughout Wynwood will be exhibited collectively for the first time during January 11‘s SOMI Art Walk, South Miami’s “hometown†art event that focuses on the city’s trendy boutique and dining district with local visual and performing artists.
The art bikes will be auctioned on January 23rd, at the Coral Gables Museum.
A portion of the funds raised will support Green Mobility Network’s Safe Streets Educational Programs.
About their participation in ARTcycle as sponsors, Ford Motor Company says:“From motorists to bicyclists, Ford Motor Company is committed the safety of all people sharing Miami’s roadways. At this event, we’re excited to share our perspectives on design, green and safety, three pillars important to Ford that are also the foundation of ARTcycle, a unique exhibit that defines the soul of this city!â€
