|Caracas-born Daniela Tugues is a Venezuelan-Spanish flamenco dancer who has studied in Madrid under the guidance of the most celebrated and revered masters of the genre. She has participated in important festivals and venues around the globe and is considered the ambassador of the new dance expression â€œFLAMENCO LATINOâ€.
Daniela is coming for the first time to Miami on April 3rd, 2014 to the best tablao in Miami, Cava Flamenco Restaurant. In addition to Daniela Tugues, the show features Almudena CÃ¡ceres (singer), Sivi RodrÃguez Ruiz (guitarist), Walter Castro (singer and percussionist), Samantha Zerpa (dancer), Cachela Judez (dancer), Nidia Perez (dancer) and special guest Daniela PadrÃ³n (violinist) and Cuero Trancao (Afro Venezuelan percussion).
Tugues was the only foreign flamenco dancer to participate in the Oscar-nominated Carlos Saura film â€œFlamencoâ€ (1994), which presents thirteen rhythms of flamenco, each with song, guitar, and dance.
In 2008, she was invited to teach at the legendary school â€œAmor de Diosâ€ in Madrid to promote Flamenco Latino as a novel contemporary expression that asserts the authenticity of flamenco dancers born in Latin America.
Currently, she is the principal dancer and director of “Venezuela Vivaâ€ and a member of Paco PeÃ±a Flamenco Dance Company, with whom she has toured extensively in internationally-renowned festivals around the world.
Her talent has been applauded in United States, Canada, Venezuela, Peru, Costa Rica, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, England, Luxemburg, Holland, Belgium, Romania, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
