NAEMIÂ an international organization dedicated to collecting, displaying and selling art made by people recoverying from mental illness, will launch its 24th Annual Exhibition with an opening reception at the RODEZart.com Gallery on first Saturday May 5, 7 â€“ 10. The show will be on view until May 26, 2012.
Featuring the work of artists from, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Spain and the United States, the exhibition is sponsored by Miami Dade County Cultural Affairs Council and the Miami Dade County commissioners, Johnson & Johnson and Janssen.
All 40 artworks featured in the exhibition will be available for sale, with the proceeds benefiting the artists and NAEMIâ€™s goals of helping mentally ill artistsÂ from around the world.
â€œBy holding the exhibition during May, we hope to bring additional attention to the struggle of those who have been diagnosed with mental illness,â€ said NAEMIâ€™s Founder Juan Martin. â€œOur ultimate goal is to help these artists be recognized and fight the stigma that so often accompanies mental illness.â€
About NAEMI Founded in 1988, NAEMI is now operating in the USA and Spain .The organization is dedicated solely to exhibiting and promoting the art made by people recovering from mental illness. NAEMI is working on an international art exhibition â€œSolo estamos vivos cuando soÃ±amos â€œ We are only alive when we dreamâ€a unique and extraordinary exhibition of pin hole camera works created by artists from the Hospital Borda in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This exhibition will be open in Miami and Spain.
