South Florida has had glimpses at the work of James Mathison. His sculptures have been photographed in the local media. Local collectors acquired some of his pieces at Art Miami and Art Palm Beach. The curating team at Ascaso Gallery designed the show to highlight the unique expressive possibilities of a visual poet. “Homo Mensura†is a meditation on the human condition, its fragility, forlornness and fragmentation.
The opening of "Homo Mensura" at Ascaso Gallery offers South Floridians the unique opportunity to meet famous sculptor James Mathison. The sculptor will be interviewed in the context of an “artist talk†by Justo Sánchez, award-winning cultural journalist and art historian. The event will be conducted in Spanish.
