“We’re pleased to announce our first Cuban Heritage Week,” says Elo, founder of Miami Supercar Rooms. “This will be an exclusive showcase of the very best in Cuban arts and culture that Miami is known for.  Saturday (May 21st) will be a fun day out for all the family, while Sunday will prove to be a must see car show for the most nostalgic classic auto enthusiasts.  Our gallery will remain open with free admission for the entire week from 10 to 6, displaying quintessential excellence in Cuban art, spearheaded by the very best local talent.”

Donations made throughout the week will benefit the Foundation Guayabera Lady Foundation, a charitable non-profit organization developed to facilitate educational, financial and in-kind resources for children and youth with limited resources or special needs.

This weekend schedule:

Saturday, May 21st, 2016:

Family Day with art, Cuban delicacies, domino, coffee stations and free drinks.

10:00 am: local artists will display their works. Rigo León, Adrian Ávila, Reinier Gamboa and Arien Xuan López, among others.

12 noon: attendees will enjoy a wide selection of complimentary Cuban cuisine by The Cuban Cooking Club, located at stations throughout the venue, offering traditional dishes such as frijoles negros cubanos, moros y cristianos, ropa vieja, picadillo, rabo encendido, congri, vaca frita, yuca con mojo, sandwich cubano and arroz con pollo among other favorites.

2:00 pm: guests will be able to witness authentic Cuban cigar rolling by a number of local experts from Cuban Crafters, whereby cigar lovers will be able to sample the best imported brands that Miami has to offer.

4:00 pm, Richland Rum will be the base for a number of specialty Cuban inspired cocktails, crafted exclusively for the entire weekend at Miami Supercar Rooms’ open bar. These will include the “Bongo Frio” – a frozen take on a Tiki classic made with a Cuban twist; as well as the “Espresso Bongo” originally created by Tiki guru Jeff “Beachbum” Berry. Miami Supercar Rooms will present a Cubanized frozen version. AR Occasions will be providing stunning coffee stations, serving authentic Cuban coffee provided by Doral Roasters, the perfect accompaniment to the tables set up for Dominoes, the traditional Cuban pastime.

Sunday, May 22nd, Art, bites and free Cuban bites and free drinks all day long.

10 am – 6 pm: Car Show. Miami Supercar Rooms will turn back the clock to the 1950s and present an impressive display of classic Cuban automotive vehicles, known for being some of the most acclaimed antiques still on the road today. The most avid car enthusiast will want to check out noteworthy Havana style motors, including a 1955 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, 1953 Chevrolet Fleetwood and 1957 Plymouth Fury, among other collectibles.
