All the proceedings of the sale of the Calendar will be dedicated to purchase materials for the art classes at the elementary school in 29th St. across the windows of Art Nouveau Gallery space at Museo Vault building. More than 40 works will be exhibited that afternoon where the children and their families are also invited to be present.Georgina Chumaceiro, Art Nouveau Gallery Director worked hand by hand with the school art teacher Rossana Montoya and Viviana Agosto, PTA President to accomplish this project. Ms. Montoya showed the children the artworks of many Latin American Geometric Abstraction Masters highlighting the forms and shapes. Her interest in the renowned Venezuelan Master Carlos Cruz-Diez, inspired the students to cut hundreds of little board sticks to made their works look like the Master’s.All began several months ago, when Art Nouveau Gallery, together with Rossana Montoya, art teacher of the school, started an art contest based on geometry. The kids were shown works of art by masters such as Carlos Cruz-Diez, Victor Vassarely and Jesus Soto, who are great masters of geometric art. From the art works created by the kids, the winning painting and poetry pieces were made into a calendar full of color and original ideas. It is a present from Art Nouveau Gallery to the neighboring school.

The money raised by the selling of the calendars will go to the school PTA so they can buy materials for their art classes & workshops. The budget cuts that have affected the public school system has particularly hit the areas of music and art. That is why Art Nouveau Gallery decided to support this school and in that way promote art within our community. They believe that since Wynwood is a community of artists, galleries and private collections, all should chip in.

About Art Nouveau Gallery

Art Nouveau Galeria was founded in Maracaibo, Venezuela in 1987 by Elizabeth Hazim de Castillo and in 2010 she opened a space in Wynwood, Miami, known as Art Nouveau Gallery with her daughter in law and partner Georgina Chumaceiro. The gallery features modern and contemporary art focused on the geometric abstraction art, widely explored in Latin America, and ranges from emerging and mid-career artists to major historical art figures such as Cruz-Diez and Jesús Rafael Soto.

Art Nouveau Gallery Miami, apart from a strong secondary market, represents highly credentialed Latin American Geometric Abstraction artists such as Rafael Barrios, Alberto Cavalieri, Hector Ramirez, Carlos Medina, Abel Ventoso and Marcolina Dipierro, among others.
