About Corina Hernandez de Thermiotis:

Corina’s photography trajectory starts in the mid eighties with a profound knowledge of analog photography. During this period, Hernandez explores and works primarily in black and white. By the year 2002, the artist finds herself embracing the digital photography but reframing from completely letting go of her analog expertise. At this point of her career, Corina is solely using the digital component as a medium, not as a final product of her work. In 2008, she integrates old facets and transcends into a more collective and mature territory where she introduces digital technology to all her work.

About the Echoes Collection

The ECHOES collection is a series of photographs that Corina has been creating since 2004. The artist has been exploring different places around the world and depicting them inside a crystal marble. ECHOES represent an inner world within a world. Each series in the collection encompass a variety of themes ranging from H2O, landscapes, to material items we encounter on our daily lives. They illustrate how the most basic ideas merge; “anything” reflects “everything”, and serve as a mirror to the artists’ perceptions. Up is down, down is up, left is right and so on.

About H2O Series

“ECHOES H2O” &  “IN=OUT H2O”

These photographs focus on a sacred element of the world. It’s an invitation to create a visual dialogue and become mindful and connect to the now=future. A place where the world doesn’t simply melt away.

Hernandez uses miniature spheres of different materials to unfold reality and reveal the truth that lies within the world of the consciousness.

Water, glass and mercury are used by Corina to represent what lies beyond the borders of reality. She manages to contemplate what the naked eye cannot, discovering the most remote details of a unique area. Through the camera the artist discovers the image and solidifies her raw energy.

Together we can make a difference in the life of children everywhere.
