The Havana Jazz Festival will be held from December 17 to 20, 2015. The festival is dedicated as a space for musicians, a party for Cuban jazz, an opportunity for exchange, interaction and dialogue, musically speaking, between cultures.

The festival has grown into an important international event in the jazz world. This event highlights Cuban traditions of Western and Afro-Cuban musical forms.

Cuban Musicians

The festival features Cuban jazz greats, soloists of the art-form such as Armando Romeo, Frank Emilio Flynn, Philip Dulzaides, Chano Pozo, Chico O'Farrill, Emiliano Salvador, Chucho Valdés and his father and teacher Bobby Carcasses, recently awarded the National Music Prize. From the younger generation of Cuban jazz masters, many have already been recognized nationally and internationally come together such as Alejandro Falcón, Rolando Luna, Yasek Manzano, Michel Herrera.

Cuban culture is a blend of European and African traditions. It is, as the Cubans will say, a “ajiaco”, that is, a stew where everyone contributes and is always being reinvented.
