Ccucu Gall-Art – The Brickell Key Gallery, aka, B K G – Makes History as the First Art Gallery on Brickell Key, Opening in March with a Solo Exhibition by Ricardo Garcia Inspired by the Old Masters
Brickell Key is set to welcome a new cultural destination with the opening of B K G, the island’s first dedicated contemporary art gallery. Launching on March 13, the gallery will inaugurate its space with a solo exhibition by Cuban-born master artist Ricardo García M.
Born in Havana in 1961 and professionally formed in Caracas, Venezuela, García has developed an international career with exhibitions in Germany, Venezuela, and the United States. A recipient of the Armando Reverón Award in Visual Arts at the prestigious Arturo Michelena Salon, García is recognized for merging Renaissance techniques with contemporary materials.
Working primarily on wooden panels, he creates layered compositions inspired by historical retables, sacred architecture, and Old Master traditions. His works incorporate stucco, jute canvas, gold leaf, steel, charcoal, sanguine, and natural pigments, resulting in pieces that balance spiritual depth, technical mastery, and contemporary abstraction.
Running from March through June, the exhibition offers collectors, residents, and visitors the opportunity to experience a body of work that connects centuries-old craftsmanship with modern artistic exploration.
The opening of B K G marks an important new chapter for Brickell Key and Miami’s expanding cultural landscape, bringing contemporary art into the everyday life of one of the city’s most distinctive island communities.
