Thom Wheeler Castillo, resident historian, will talk about how this textile warehouse and immigrant neighborhood, formerly known as “Little San Juan,” is quickly becoming the world’s largest outdoor art gallery.

Wednesday, December 19th; 6-9pm; Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
Join Vizcaya Museum and Gardens for their community event! For the Christmas Season, the museum will be decorating the house in 1920s luxury decor and offering visitors a night of holiday festivities and cheer featuring crafts like ornament and holiday-card making, caroling from the Girl Choir of South Florida, hot chocolate and free tours of the Main House and formal gardens. This event is open to members only; if you are not a member of Vizcaya, make sure to join for the new year to enjoy the benefits of countless events and fun activities.

This week, the kids have the chance to celebrate their vacation from school and the holiday season with other kids at City Trekker Winter Camp. NSU Art Museum's symposium "The History of Art and Hip Hop in South Florida," coinciding with the presentation of the rap musical Hamilton at Broward Center for the Performing Arts, explores the rich and distinct developments of this interdisciplinary genre in the region.
