Aimée Pérez works mostly in clay, surfaced with oxide washes, slips, engines, and glazes. She adds encaustic, wax, metals, glass, and founded objects in order to add layers and different dimensions to her work. Her inspiration comes from the human form, their gestures and emotions, life and relationships, and serves as archetypes which trascend the context of their story. Exploring contemporary themes, as well as religious, biblical, and worldly ones, he creates sculptures that explore spiritual truth and paradoxical themes of suffering and redemption, grief and comfort.
