Adventum Floridana: Witnessing the Layers of a Vanishing Horizon
March 13 – June 7, 2025
In Adventum Floridana, Andrés Cabrera-García transforms landscapes into living archives, capturing the shifting terrain of South Florida through memory, materiality, and cultural identity. Cabrera’s paintings and found-object assemblages document the paradox of creation amid destruction—where urban expansion erases natural landscapes, yet leaves behind traces that pulse with life. Through vibrant layers of color, construction debris, and fragmented yet unified compositions, Adventum Floridana invites us to witness the vanishing horizon, urging us to reflect on what remains when landscapes fade and memory takes root.
Deering Estate at The Frank
Of Seeing and Being: Giannina Dwin and Tony Fernandez
March 13 – June 7, 2025
Rooted in Heidegger’s concepts of Dasein—“Being there”—and Poiesis, the act of bringing forth meaning through art, Of Seeing and Being explores the tension between presence and absence, the visible and the hidden. Giannina Dwin and Tony Fernandez engage with the material and the ephemeral, shaping experiences that invite contemplation on existence, time, and transformation.
This exhibition is part of the Deering Estate at The Frank program, a partnership that brings Deering Estate Artists-in-Residence to new audiences by showcasing their work in dynamic, collaborative venues beyond the Estate.
