Through February 28. Abstract, Mayan, and Surreal Works. Benjamin Cañas (El Salvador, 1933 – 1987).
Opening Celebration, Saturday September 15: 3 – 6 pm (September 15 – April 21) Grids: A Selection of Paintings by Lynne Golob Gelfman, a collection of approximately 25 paintings by Miami-based artist Lynne Golob Gelfman. The most comprehensive show by Gelfman to date, the exhibition will showcase paintings the artist has produced over the last two decades, as well as examples of early works from the late 1960s and early 70s—the majority of which have never been seen publicly before.
(September 22 – November 3 ) Cesar Trasobares: Redacted. These works can be seen through the lens of personal psychology as brutal actions of uncensored dissent as well as expressions of uncompromising social and political commentary. Gallerist Luisa Lignarolo expands: “César’s exhibition reflects an artist’s emotional protest against the blasting of knowledge from many fronts and the resulting atmosphere of intellectual debasement.”
