From September 18 to November 19: Magnum Sodamin: Wild Altar (Gallery One) and Raquel Schwartz: To Be (Gallery Two): Watercolors and Ceramics on view at Dot Fiftyone. In Magnus exhibition "Wild Altar," he builds monuments to the Spoonbill, Heron, Anhinga. The artist's tufted tapestry sculptures become totems of the wilderness, deifying the bird, fetishizing its avian characteristics, and canonizing its habitat as holy land. While "To Be" is the new exhibition by Raquel Schwartz, watercolors and, small-format sculptures that the artist produced in the period of the pandemic. The show is an intimate reflection of nature and our connection to it.
