Visual artist Stan Douglas will discuss his film and photography practice and how it influences our understanding of history. Douglas draws inspiration from his intensive research and meticulous attention to detail, while utilizing live actors, costumes, props, and sets to render real and imagined scenes from the past with uncanny accuracy. Douglas’ work Luanda-Kinshasa (2014) —jointly acquired by PAMM and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art— will be on view from May 26-September 25, 2016. Free with museum admission ($16 adults, members free).
