There won’t be an Open House in July because the residents will be involved in the Commuter Biennial, https://www.toopics.com/commuterbiennial/, curated by Laura Randall and funded by Knight Foundation, Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs and Culture Builds Florida is a public art exhibit that will look to Miami’s extensive highways and waterways in order to weave the story of our suburban history from the degradation of native wetlands to the exodus from the city’s core to its strip mall wilderness.
The Artists-in-Residence in August are Sherrill Roland; Jackson McGrath in collaboration with O, Miami, funded by the de Groot Foundation; and Pamela Combs, in collaboration with Diaspora Vibe. Their Open House will be one evening between August 27-29.
Fountainhead Studios (Local artists) are open to the public twice a year. Fountainhead Residency (National/International artists) hosts monthly Open Houses. See website for dates. Admission: Free. The Fountainhead serves as a catalyst for growth in the professional careers of artists and cultivates new audiences for the visual arts.
